An attempted kidnapping suspect was arrested Thursday night in Keenesburg, after a homeowner he approached called 911.
The Weld County Sheriff’s office said the attempted kidnapping happened just after 9 p.m. in the 100 block of Stewart Street in Keenesburg, when suspect Jameq Hill tried to cover a woman’s mouth and pull her into an alley on Main Street.
Deputies said the woman fought back and was able to get away from the suspect. She then ran to a neighbor’s home for help.
Not long after the attack, deputies said the suspect went up to a homeowner and asked if he could stay the night there because the police were looking for him.
That’s when the homeowner shut the door and called 911.
Deputies caught Hill a short time later and he was booked into the Weld County Jail.
Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call the Weld County Sheriff’s Office at 970-356-4015 extension 2825.
