The series is based on his “Sound City” documentary, with Grohl visiting and recording at some of the world’s most iconic studios. The Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman will also do interviews with artists.
The now-untitled program will hit studios including, Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio in Chicago; Rancho de Luna in California; and Washington, D.C.’s Inner Ear Studios. Grohl will interview Nancy Wilson, Paul Stanley, Joe Walsh and others.
The show is expected to air on HBO this winter.
