June 3. Theater and opera companies aren’t all that prudish around here — we do see our share of flesh and blood on Denver stages. But don’t think it happens so casually. Some folks mind and some don’t, and company managers know they’ll hear from the minders. A half-dozen of the city’s busiest actors, directors and performers will talk about pushing into risque directions at “Rated “R” on Stage: A Community Panel on Sex, Violence and Nudity in the Performing Arts.” In the lineup: Michael Mayes (singing in Central City Opera’s “Dead Man Walking” this summer) and Karen Slack (currently in Curious’ “Venus in Fur”).
