Traffic was backed up for miles on northbound Interstate 25 on Saturday after an accident at the Interstate 76 exit.
The accident happened about noon. A little before 2:30 p.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation reported that two northbound lanes had reopened but that the I-76 ramp to U.S. 36 remained closed for accident cleanup and long delays were continuing.
After 4 p.m., CDOT reported that the I-76 and U.S. 36 ramp had both reopened.
An unreleated accident was causing delays on southbound I-25 in Thornton, police said.
