Rhubarb fest
The 27th annual Pine Grove Rhubarb Festival is June 14. Enter your rhubarb dish into the bake-off by 11 a.m. for a chance to be crowned Rhubarb Royalty, followed by a parade, live music, River Duck Races, carnival activities and more.
Salida celebration
Salida’s 66th annual FIBark whitewater festival is June 11-15. FIBark, or “First in Boating on the Arkansas” features whitewater events, running and mountain bike races, a disc golf competition, beer tastings, live music and much more.
Get to Snowmass, buckaroos
The Snowmass Rodeo comes to town every Wednesday beginning June 11. From 5 to 7 p.m., Snowmass Village hosts bareback riding, team roping, barrel racing, bull racing, kids activities and a campfire sing-a-long. Ticket prices vary and can include dinner.
Queue up for a ‘cue challenge
The 21st annual Colorado BBQ challenge is June 12-14 in Frisco. More than 60 teams will compete for Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion titles in the categories of pork, ribs, chicken, barbecue sauce, side dish, salsa and dessert. The weekend also features chef demonstrations, pig races, and a whiskey tour.
