Interview with Teri Mazzotti, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I opened the restaurant in 1996 and amowner operator of our family restaurant. We took our favorite recipes that have been handed down over generations and decided to share them with our community. We love to cook for those who love to eat and take great pride in our dishes. Myself and my two daughters, Jill Wilkins and Elizabeth Treber, all take part in the day-to-day as well as the catering side of the house.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We are completely family owned and operated and always have been. We remain true to our heritage with traditional Italian dining and ensure no one leaves hungry. We pride ourselves on excellent service and treat everyone as though they are family. We are a lot more than the sum of the bricks. Our restaurant is about the people. The people who work here and the people who gather here. We truly believe we have a very special place.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: The most gratifying part of our line of work is making the customer happy. Knowing you have prepared a wonderful meal they can share with family as they sit and talk. Knowing the couple that just walked in hasn’t had a date night in months and looks forward to sharing the night with us. It’s this connection with people and great food that makes our line of work the most fulfilling.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: The biggest challenge we are facing right now are the growing pains we are currently experiencing. The growth we are seeing is a true blessing and we are adjusting to ensure that each and every customer leaves with a smile and a plan to return soon.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Although we love our food, Italian dishes are strictly prohibited from being served at holidays or family celebrations. Except for Elizabeth, she could eat Italian every day.
