1 Drug bust. On June 12, Edgewater police officers responded with members of the U.S. Probation Office, the Marshal’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration to a residence in the 6900 block of West 25th Avenue to contact a federal probation client who was thought to be armed with a handgun. During a search, 3.4 ounces of methamphetamine and a scale were seized. A 36-year-old man was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute.

2 Car wash DUI. On June 12, an Edgewater officer responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of 22nd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard. The officer located a vehicle at the car wash at 2201 Sheridan Blvd., and a 47-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

3 When pit bulls attack. On June 4, a Lakewood police officer responded to the area of South Vance Street and West Center Avenue on a report of two pit bulls running loose. A woman was walking her leashed German shepherd when she saw the two dogs running toward her. The pit bulls bit her German shepherd, but drew no blood. The pit bulls ran off when a passing motorist honked the car’s horn. The pit bulls were not immediately located.

4 Domestic violence. A woman was arrested June 4 for domestic violence. Lakewood police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 00 block of South Wadsworth Boulevard where a man and his girlfriend were arguing inside his vehicle, with their 1-year-old son in the back seat. Police said the man sustained several minor injuries; no injuries were observed on the woman.
