Kathy Nesbitt, executive director of the Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration; Maruca Salazar, executive director of ; and Mayor Michael Hancock’s chief of staff, Janice Sinden, have been named Women of Distinction for 2014 by .

They were introduced at a garden party held at the home of Greg Movesian and Jack Finlaw. Movesian, , formerly served as chief development officer for the Girl Scouts; Finlaw is chief legal counsel to Gov. John Hickenlooper.

Other Women of Distinction to be honored at the Oct. 28 Thin Mint Dinner are , former director of the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships and wife of University of Colorado president Bruce Benson; Kelly Brough, president and chief executive officer of the ; Denise Maes, public policy director for the ; Cindy Parsons, vice president of public relations and communications for ; Gloria Neal, a reporter for CBS4; former Denver City Councilwoman Ramona Martinez; and Debbie Welle-Powell, a vice president with .

The Women of Distinction were chosen by a committee headed by 2006 honoree Tamra Ward, the Leanna Clark and Patty Fontneau are chairing the Thin Mint Dinner.

Clark, vice chancellor/university communications at the , was a Woman of Distinction in 2009; Fontneau, , was recognized in 2003.

The also will feature a talk by , who will share highlights from her round-the-world flight that began June 27.
