On the same day the Rockies gained back relief pitcher Boone Logan from the disabled list, they lost another from the bullpen — Nick Masset injured his left knee in Saturday’s game and on Sunday was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Masset has a patella tendon strain, according to Rockies head athletic trainer Keith Dugger. The right-hander will likely be inactive for at least two weeks before the team reevaluates his status.

“He’s limping around. We have him on crutches,” Dugger said. “We hope in two weeks he feels better.”

Dugger called the MRI on Masset’s knee a “best case scenario” — the team had feared a tendon strain.

Masset jammed his knee covering home plate Saturday after a passed ball got by Colorado catcher Wilin Rosario in the seventh inning.

“He buckled it twice,” Dugger said, first running to home plate, then reaching for a throw from Rosario.

Masset (4.94 ERA, 23 2/3 innings pitched, 18 strike outs, 12 walks) was , when the Rockies’ 8-2 lead whittled into an 8-7 lead.

After he strained his knee, Dugger and Weiss immediately came to the mound to take him out. Masset is the second pitcher injured this season on a ball that got by Rosario. Jordan Lyles broke his hand in May covering at home plate as Rosario relayed a ball from the backstop. , in July of last season, covering home plate on a ball that got by Rosario.

In Masset’s place, the Rockies called up right-handed reliever Brooks Brown from Triple-A Colorado Springs. The 29-year-old has a 4.35 ERA over 39 1/3 innings for the Sky Sox. The Rockies also designated Double-A Modesto Nuts RHP Raul Fernandez for assignment to carve a spot on their 40-man roster for Brown.
