Interview with Corey Feldman, owner

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: After eleven years as an athletic trainer and five years as a physician’s assistant, I saw a need for our overall health to be approached both internally and externally. Instead of people going to a doctor’s office for checkups, a gym for fitness and nutrition support group for nutrition, they can come to Trivida and get all aspects rolled into one. Not only does it save time and money, but they have one person who can address all of their goals, and consolidate and track results.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: Probably the biggest difference is the combination of health care, fitness and nutrition in its purest form. I wanted to create a program that would excite people and show them that working out is really fun. I wanted to share a program with proven results, I wanted to show people that nutrition and eating healthy doesn’t mean sacrificing all the treats we crave, and I wanted to show them that their medical provider cares about their overall well-being and speaks to them like a friend or family member. My medical background is the backbone of what makes our studio different. I can do basic annual physicals, strep and flu tests or assess an injury and send you to a specialist for further investigation. Another big difference is our variety. I also give members one-on-one nutrition consultation that will work with their lifestyle.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: I love seeing the change in people, day one to day 90 and so on. You can see a change in body shape, but also attitude toward the workouts and toward everyday challenges. I love helping people and I have created a fitness family with my studio and can’t wait for it to grow. Having a fitness studio where instructors know your name, know about your family and just generally care about each other is a great feeling to have. I tell my classes all the time that I love them, and I really do.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: I think the ongoing challenge is to share all the ways we can work with our members to meet their goals. The service is unmatched, but people also don’t think something like this exists. We also want to stop all the mental blocks that keep people from starting their journey. We are an incredibly supportive environment and you get personal attention in small classes, so you know you will see improvement.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: How often internal medicine comes into play when creating a goal for overall wellness. Our bodies are amazing machines, but hormone levels, blood counts, cholesterol and vitamin levels all come into play when setting attainable goals. I can review and explain how it might affect certain parts of your life.
