Absurdist comedy duo Tim and Eric, who are responsible for such brilliantly bizarre shows as “Tom Goes to the Mayor” and “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” will make their third Denver appearance in September with a special guest in tow — frequent Channel 5 contributor Dr. Steve Brule (actor John C. Reilly).
Tim and Eric’s stage shows are always ridiculous affairs with music (live and recorded), videos, dancing and costumes that look like they were cobbled together from the rusty dumpster behind a sound stage in 1990s Hollywood.
But the addition of Brule — whose own Adult Swim show (a spin-off of “Awesome Show”) has enjoyed three seasons so far — is a wild card.
Will Tim and Eric interview Brule from the stage? Will they dress up as Brule’s fictional Channel 5 counterparts, Jan and Wayne Skylar, The Tri-State’s Only Married News Team whilst doing so? Will any vomit or strip down to the underwear or throw freeze-dried shrimp into the audience?
These are the serious questions we must ponder, my friends.
