Interview with Cindy Eaton, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I have a degree in veterinary medicine and wanted a way to combine that knowledge and expertise with my desire to provide healthy, safe and fun products for pet owners.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: The main factor that distinguishes us from others in this industry is our expertise and knowledge of our products. I won’t bring any product into the store that I wouldn’t feed to or use with my own pets. This allows our team to have confidence in what we provide and offers us the opportunity to build trust with our customers. Our grooming salon also offers cage-free grooming. We were one of the first shops in the area to provide this compassionate, reduced-stress option for dogs. In our salon, dogs are with a groomer for the entire experience — never left alone in kennels to become anxious or scared — and they are usually ready to go in one to two hours. We feel this is the only way to offer grooming services, as it provides the dogs with a much more safe and enjoyable experience.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: The most rewarding aspect of my work is the relationship we build with our customers. We have watched their pets and, in some cases, their children, grow and have healthy, happy lives. We consider ourselves part of their family and strive to always maintain their utmost respect and trust.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: The biggest challenge we face is conveying to the public what a difference quality makes in the health of your pet. Many products claim to be healthy and safe, but simply are not. It is heartbreaking to know that many people just don’t know they have options. Ear infections, skin issues, allergies and some behavior issues can all be alleviated with the help of healthy foods and supplements. We are here to spread the word and help.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: We work with many vets in the area who refer clients to us for help with health issues that are hard to resolve. We have many customers who tell us we helped bring their pet relief for the first time in many years.
