Gov. Christie on Colorado anti-pot remarks: “I’m not backing off an inch”

When — known for his anti-marijuana legalization opinions — was asked by Denver media what he would say to the Coloradans who voted to legalize recreational marijuana, he answered plainly.

“I disagree with them,” he told reporters July 23 at downtown Denver diner Sam’s No. 3.

In April the embattled, outspoken governor about his anti-legalization views and how they affect his opinion of Colorado’s quality of life.

“See if you want to live in a major city in Colorado where there’s head shops popping up on every corner and people flying into your airport just to come and get high,” Christie said. “To me, itap just not the quality of life we want to have here in the state of New Jersey, and there’s no thatap worth that.”

When the media questioned Christie on July 23 about those comments he stood firm: “I’m not backing off an inch from what I said.”
