As part of its promotional push for next month’s sale of $12 million in “mini-bonds” to the public, Mayor Michael Hancock’s administration Thursday debuted a newsreel-style video. Essentially, the city’s effort — which will support renovation or construction of cultural facilities — was recast in the mode of the famous wartime “Buy U.S. Victory Bonds” campaign.

The Denver Post . The five-day sale of the bonds, available to Colorado residents for $500 each — carrying a potential 50% or 100% profit, depending on the redemption period — starts Aug. 4.
