In response to the ever-growing role of technology in the global landscape, Regis University focuses its Computer & Information Sciences (CIS), Health Information Management (HIM) and Healthcare Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) programs on addressing the world’s
technological challenges.
With particular emphasis on infrastructure, integration, technology, cultural, organizational and sociopolitical issues, the university explores the challenges that face business, health and IT professionals in an increasingly technological environment. Focusing on the application and development of computer and information sciences technologies, topics that are addressed emphasize solving problems in healthcare IT, cybercrime, privacy, social justice and ethics.
The university’s CIS program consistently ranks among the top 10 percent of institutions producing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science, according to the National Science Foundation. It was ranked in the 2014 Best Online Graduate Computer Information Technology Programs by U.S. News & World Report.
The university offers the only fully online ABET-accredited computer science, CIS, and computer networking degrees. In addition, the HIM program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education.
“With a long heritage of serving the community, our Jesuit Catholic university provides students with the technical knowledge and theoretical background in computing within a value-centered curriculum,” said Donald E. Archer, CIS dean and assistant professor.
CIS students can choose from participating online, on the university’s main Denver campus or at various regional locations.
