Getting your player ready...

NFL reporter Mike Klis suggests five goals for the in their preseason opener Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks at Sports Authority Field at Mile High:

1. Hit ’em!

The last time these two teams played, Feb. 2 in New Jersey, . Denver has been living with that embarrassing showing the past six months. Preseason or no preseason, Broncos pride is at stake.

2. Just don’t get hurt

Flexing the male ego is one thing. Getting into harm’s way is another. Keeping the regulars healthy is a top goal of any preseason game.

3. Block!

The Broncos’ primary offensive adjustment from the Super Bowl was to tweak 60 percent of their offensive line. The new front, anchored by the return of left tackle Ryan Clady, must keep clean through his 10 to 12 plays.

4. Second-chance Hillman

Starting running back . Ronnie Hillman will be the starter Thursday. He started in preseason game at Seattle last year, too, then he fumbled crossing the goal line. Hillman has something to prove.

5. A touchdown drive by Brock and the No. 2s

will get more playing time than Manning. Osweiler could use a touchdown drive to continue to build his confidence as he begins his third NFL season.
