A 67-year-old Summit County woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for and other victims.

Dawna Foxx stole more than $300,000 from the nonprofit festival, according to the Summit County district attorney’s office.

She was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to felony theft. She also stole thousands from her ex-husband and his former business partner, prosecutors said.

Foxx, who is also guilty of forgery, was ordered to pay $110,000 restitution, including $90,000 to the film festival.

Foxx, who worked for the film festival, wrote fraudulent checks to herself and misused credit cards and business accounts, prosecutors said.

She used the ill-gotten gains on various personal expenses, including rental vehicles, airline flights, clothing, gardening supplies, phone and utility bills and casino debts.

Foxx is scheduled to report to the Colorado Department of Corrections on Monday to begin her prison term.
