Feinstein said in a statement: "The investigation confirmed what I said on the Senate floor in March — CIA personnel inappropriately searched Senate intelligence committee computers in violation of an agreement we had reached, and I believe in violation of the constitutional separation of powers." U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., is chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Feinstein said last week that she will not publicly release the CIA torture report, which was heavily redacted by the Obama Administration, until information supporting its conclusions is put back into the final version. Re: “Torture report still incomplete,” Aug. 9 editorial.

Thank you for supporting better disclosure on the CIA torture report. Itap a sad commentary on our society and the media that unconstitutional and illegal acts by our government are given such short shrift. If only we had the same fervor for truth as we did for Barack Obama’s birth certificate or Mitt Romney’s tax returns.
