Re: “Parenting while distracted,” Aug. 12 Jane Scott column.
Finally someone is speaking up on behalf of today’s children. We miraculously raised our wonderful and successful daughter, now 34, without the benefit of social media or cellphones — can you even imagine? As a parent, you have a limited amount of time to “be” with your child. Should you squander away this precious time, you shouldn’t be surprised by whining, attention-getting tantrums and other acting-out behaviors.
What a truly pathetic message you are sending to your offspring that they are playing second fiddle to an electronic device!
