A pedestrian was injured Monday when she was hit by a car in Denver. The driver sped off.
The hit-and-run incident happened about noon near the intersection of 22nd and Stout streets near downtown Denver, said Raquel Lopez, a Denver Police Department spokeswoman.
The victim, described as elderly, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Police described the vehicle that fled as a white Hyundai Sonata.
The driver is described as a white woman, likely in her mid-30s, with brown hair in a bun. She was wearing a white tank top.
The driver fled the scene eastbound on Park Avenue.
