1 Suspect found in trash can. When Golden Police responded to a noise disturbance Aug. 8 in the 1100 block of Miller Place, they saw someone in a grey hat hop over a fence and flee, failing to stop when ordered by police. The noise — a party — was abated and when police opened a trash can in a neighbor’s driveway, they found the suspect. He then cooperated and therefore was not arrested for underaged drinking.
2 Evergreen road rage. A man reported to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office that on Aug. 8, he was driving north by Evergreen Bible Church, 4841 County Road 73, when the driver of a red Jeep crossed the double-yellow line to pass his vehicle. As it did, the passenger threw an aerosol can, which damaged his vehicle. Other drivers also called to report the incident. The owner of the vehicle was identified to be contacted at a later time.
3 Switching boots. Jeffco Sheriff’s deputies went to Big R, 25557 Conifer Road, Conifer, where managers reported the theft of a pair of boots. The theft was realized when a pair of older, worn boots was found in the store’s shoe department.
4 Gumball machine not for sale. A resident of the 1200 block of Golden Circle, Golden, called police to report she was being harassed via phone and text message by a man whose Craigslist ad she responded to for a free gumball machine. She said the man told her someone put the ad up as a joke and then began yelling at her on the phone and texting her. The man later admitted to being upset because the woman called him at 2 a.m., but he denied harassing her.
