I’m hoping people come down to the Pepsi Center Saturday morning for the , in memory of Jessica Redfield Ghawi, whose life was cut short in the Aurora Theater Shootings. Before her death, Jessica organized her own equipment drive for victims of the Colorado wildfires. That’s the kind of person she was.
From 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, in the Camry parking lot side of the Pepsi Center (on the south side of the arena), you can bring your new or used sporting gear (it can be of any sport) to donate to underprivileged families as part of the “A Precious Child” foundation. Cash donations can also be made in lieu of equipment. Any local teams (pro, college, high school, whatever) are encouraged to donate any equipment they can or want to spare.
It’s a great cause, and I hope to see you there.
