BOULDER — Colorado announced Tuesday that two senior walk-ons have been put on scholarship for this semester.

Getting the good news were wide receiver Wes Christensen and safety Richard Yates.

A Californian, Christensen (5-foot-10, 185 pounds) transferred to CU from Butte (Junior) College prior to the 2013 season and saw limited action in 11 games, mostly on special teams.

Yates (6-2, 190) played high school football for Kent Denver and is the son of Scott Yates, who lettered for the Buffs in 1979 as a safety.

Yates has played in 22 games for Colorado, all on special teams.
