CSU running backs Treyous Jarrells (3) and Dee Hart (10) at practice Tuesday

FORT COLLINS — My online-only post-practice story from the Rams’ Tuesday workout in the Indoor Practice Facility is online and .

After summarizing the injury situation, it gets to the nitty gritty of the Rams’ running back situation.

Jeff Hammerschmidt, the running backs coach, might have been saying what many inferred to be obvious since the arrival of Dee Hart from Alabama, but he admitted the hope is that Hart proves to be the guy everyone thought he was when he was one of the top recruits in the country three years ago and that he grabs the job.

This wasn’t in the story, but Hammerschmidt also noted that one of the reasons Kapri Bibbs didn’t take over the job early last season was that his fumble against Colorado was returned for a touchdown in the opener. “But he had a special talent and I think one of these guys, hopefully one of these guys, we’ll hand it to a couple of times and go, ‘Whoa, OK.'”
