1 Just their imagination. On Aug. 16, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the 8500 block of South Carr Street in the Littleton area on a burglary report. While being interviewed by the deputy, the homeowners — a young couple with a new baby and an irregular sleep schedule — said they saw men hanging from the trees in their yard. The deputy deemed it likely the couple was experiencing the effects of sleep deprivation.
2 Bar patron cited for animal neglect. On Aug. 12, a deputy was called to the 1200 block of West Indore Place, Ken-Caryl, where he discovered a car with a husky inside. Two windows were cracked less than an inch and there was no water for the dog. It was 90 degrees outside. The deputy found the owners in a nearby bar and cited them for animal neglect.
3 Flowers uprooted. On Aug. 14, a deputy went to the 7900 block of South Depew Street, Columbine (Littleton), after a woman reported the flowers in her garden had been pulled out. The woman said this happened earlier and she had replanted all the flowers. She suspected neighborhood youth were involved.
4 Van damaged with golf ball. On Aug. 15, a man reported the passenger window on his vehicle in the 7500 block of Shaffer Parkway, Ken-Caryl, had been broken by a golf ball striking it.
5 Women fight in front of post office. A deputy responded to a fight between two women Aug. 14 in front of a post office in the 6600 block of South Iris Street in the Littleton area. One of the woman said she believed the other was involved in identity theft.
