Re: “Going beyond the label on Obamacare,” Aug. 26 E.J. Dionne Jr. column.
I don’t care what you call it — Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act. It is saving my life right now. At the beginning of 2014, I was able to get a new plan with no limit on pre-existing conditions. And just two weeks into the year, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and a tumor in my back. My new insurance has covered my treatments and surgeries. Without it, I would have had to pay for all of it out of my pocket.
Obamacare works, even if I do have to pay a little higher premium. I am willing to, because my insurance is actually working for me for a change. And I am still alive.
