BOULDER — Boulder County law enforcement, with the help of an Army National Guard helicopter, on Tuesday flew bundles of dug-up marijuana plants out of South St. Vrain Canyon after a large-scale illegal marijuana grow was discovered in the area last week.

An undisclosed number of plants are being taken via Black Hawk helicopter from the grow location down to the Boulder County Transportation Yards, 5201 St. Vrain Road in Longmont near Vance Brand Airport, officials said.

Also brought out from the camp was equipment including tools, batteries and propane tanks.

The grow operation was discovered by hikers last week.
