Arvada Harvest Festival Food Fair
Sept. 6: The 89th annual fair commemorates the Star Spangled Banner Bicentennial and pioneer experiences in the American West. Entries accepted starting at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic School Cafeteria in Old Town Arvada; judging begins at 2 p.m. Visit the website for a list of entry categories and age divisions. The food fair is held in connection with the Arvada Harvest Festival.

Sept. 13: The Governor’s Residence Preservation Fund presents this benefit of more than 20 food and beer pairings prepared by chefs from the Colorado Chefs Association and hand-crafted beers from members of the Colorado Brewers Guild, 3-7 p.m. Tours of the mansion and grounds, live music and get a commemorative glass are included. $100, $250 VIP (additional goodie bag, Colorado History Cookbook and early admission at 2 p.m.); proceeds benefit the GRPF that works to preserve the Governor’s Residence at the Boettcher Mansion.
