A gunman opened fire at Arapahoe High School in Centennial on Dec. 13, 2013. (RJ Sangosti, The Denver Post)

Re: “Second security guard raises concerns after Arapahoe High shooting,” Sept. 4 news story.

Many parents at Arapahoe were wondering when we would see more articles about the incident last December. We hoped it would be over the summer, so that it wouldn’t have such a negative impact on the kids. But no, this had to come out right when students were back in school, another negative jab hanging over the building.

There are so many wonderful people at Arapahoe High School who are true heroes and absolutely did the right thing on that horrible day. I will always be indebted to them for their bravery, care and concern for all of our kids. I wish more people could be like the Davis family and lead with love. Good luck to our amazing students, staff and administration this year.
