Johnson’s Corner, the iconic truck stop south of Loveland, is in the process of selling to a national chain.

Chauncey Taylor, owner and general manager of the Johnstown fuel stop, restaurant and bakery that predates Interstate 25, said he has been working with TravelCenters of America for more than a year on the potential sale of the business.

The sale was to have closed Wednesday, but that has been pushed to Sept. 24, he said, “and that may be a moving target.”

Taylor, who took over operation of the truck stop in 1994 from his mother, Virginia Johnson, said he has been approached over the years by other companies hoping to buy Johnson’s Corner.
