Recoveries provide inspiration. They instill confidence. But practice is just that. It is not a game. Von Miller and Chris Harris returned from ACL surgeries on Sunday night. They played, but were reminded that it was only a start.
“My body is sore man. Not my knee. It feels fine. No problems. Just my body is sore from playing,” Miller said. “It was a good foundation game. I don’t like to compare to last year, but I really believe you are going to see a better Von this year.”
Harris was flagged for a controversial interference call. But he also delivered a key deflection in the second half when the defense bowed up as the offense sputtered. He finished with three tackles, but required rest at times.
“It was just fatigue,” said Harris on why he came out on some series. “This was like my first preseason game. But it felt great to be out there again.”
