CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say it has been mostly quiet in the town of Crested Butte this weekend, despite its transformation into a fictional “Whatever” town for a Bud Light ad campaign.
Officials and business owners were concerned that Anheuser-Busch’s filming of a commercial for Bud Light beer and its “Up for Whatever” campaign would cause problems in the resort town.
But KUSA-TV in Denver (http://on9news.tv/1rmslLw ) reported Saturday that police had made no arrests associated with the event. The Crested Butte Marshal’s Office says Anheuser-Busch has done a good job of keeping the peace in its fantasy town. Private security was also on hand.
The beer giant agreed to pay $500,000 to temporarily revamp Crested Butte. Workers installed a sand volleyball court, and some 1,000 revelers were flown in for the two-day event.
