Blue Shoe Run for Prostate Cancer
Sept. 13: The fifth annual 5K run/walk presented by the Urology Center of Colorado Foundation that also includes a 1.5-mile family walk and kids fun run. 7:45 a.m. kids fun run, 8 a.m. 5K run/walk, 8:15 a.m. family walk. A post-race party includes a beer garden, live music, silent auction, booths, children’s activities, prizes and awards. Fees vary. Cyclists for Lyons and Viva Lyons
Sept. 13: Cyclists 4 Community presents a benefit for the Lyons Community Foundation to continue 2013 flood-recovery efforts. Choose from three bike rides including road, mountain and cruiser. El Grito 5K Run & Walk
Sept. 14: The 21st annual run/walk to provide scholarships for graduating high school seniors who have been involved in track and cross-country running and are pursuing a higher education. 7:30-8:45 a.m. registration and packet pickup, 9 a.m. run starts, 9:05 a.m. walk begins, 10:30 a.m. awards presentation and post-race celebration with refreshments and entertainment. Mesa Verde National Park’s Hike and Bike
Sept. 13 and 27: The annual outing on Wetherill Mesa for hikers and cyclists. Wetherill Mesa is closed for the season but will reopen for these two days from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Wetherill Mesa Road is located near mile 15 on the park road, just past Far View Lodge. Visitors should drive 12 miles to the Wetherill Mesa information kiosk where the tram road begins. Hikers and bicycle riders can ride or hike along the 5.5 mile long tram loop road. There are several historic sites along the way, and park rangers and volunteers will be on-site to answer questions. Entrance fees will be waived for participants. Yoga Journal LIVE! Colorado
Sept. 14-21: The annual festival with dozens of master teachers offers more than 100 classes for all levels and styles of yoga, intensives, lectures, film screenings, a Yoga Market and more. $155-$1,125.
