Authorities identified the 42-year-old man who died Sunday after falling off a cliff in the wilderness near Aspen as Theodore James Leach of Littleton.
The Pitkin County Coroner’s Office announced the identification early Monday morning.
Leach was hunting goats on North Maroon Peak — about 11 miles outside of Aspen — when he fell 60 to 80 feet off a cliff. Hikers found him unresponsive and moaning in pain Sunday morning. Leach died after being flown by helicopter to Aspen Valley Hospital.
The coroner said Leach died of multiple systems trauma caused by an accidental fall.
