BOULDER — The depth along Colorado’s offensive line could get a boost soon if, as anticipated, junior guard Brad Cotner returns from a concussion.
Cotner (6-foot-3 and 275 pounds) has been out since Aug. 6 when he suffered a concussion during the first week of preseason camp.
“He went and saw a specialist,” CU coach Mike MacIntyre said Wednesday following practice. “As of this morning, they’re going to let him start getting back and doing everything.
“There was some concern last week (about Cotner’s football future),” MacIntyre added. “But right now, from all the multiple tests he’s had, he should be OK, unless there is some unforeseeable setback.”
Entering August drills, Cotner was listed on the depth chart as the top reserve at right guard behind starter Daniel Munyer. Cotner also has experience at center.
