1 Self sabotage. A witness called police Aug. 30 when he saw a drunken shoplifter run out of the 7-Eleven at 2220 S. Peoria St. and then fall and knock himself out on the ground. Police found a few packs of batteries strewn around where the suspect had fallen.
2 Public spat. A man punched and cracked the front door of the 7-Eleven at 13790 E. Quincy Ave. after he and his girlfriend got into an argument inside the store Aug. 28. The couple ran away when the clerk called police.
3 Conspicuous theft. Police were called to the Arc Thrift Store at 10000 E. Colfax Ave. because a woman loaded a cart with merchandise and left the store Aug. 26. The woman was last seen wheeling down the street, but police couldn’t find her.
4 Battered garage. A woman called police to report that someone drove their car into her parent’s garage in the 00 block of South Nome Street. The door was knocked off the tracks and wouldn’t close. A witness saw a green truck leave the driveway Aug. 14.
5 Robbed on lunch break. The owner of Sheridan Auto Tech at 333 N. Airport Blvd. called police after thousands of dollars worth of his tools were taken Aug. 30. The victim left the garage open while he went to get lunch Aug. 29.
6 Close call. A couple who were doing maintenance on their rental property in the 12400 block of East Tennessee Circle called police because someone tried to break into the house while they went to the hardware store Aug. 18. The window screens were taken out when they returned, but the burglar couldn’t get inside.
