1 Father and son pair up for attack. A 20-year-old man who was almost hit by a car while crossing the street at 5800 Wadsworth Blvd. in Arvada and waving a large bottle of beer Aug. 26 verbally harassed and chased the driver before kicking and throwing rocks at the vehicle as his dad yelled support. The duo was later found at a nearby bar and both were arrested on outstanding warrants.

2 Gold bait and switch. A business owner at International Gold and Silver Buyers, 6414 Ward Road, told Arvada police on Aug. 28 that a month prior, two Hispanic males entered the business to sell a gold chain worth $580. The two men began arguing about whether or not to sell the chain, and one offered cash to the other. The man then sold the chain to the store, and testing later revealed it to be fake.

3 Thief marginalizes crime. On Aug. 7, Arvada police contacted a man suspected of trying to walk out of Kmart, 9881 W. 58th Ave., with unpaid goods. He lifted up his shirt to display his wares, telling police “It’s just a T-shirt, and I needed the razors.” He attempted to flee and was arrested on three offenses.

4 Mass storage unit burglaries. Four storage units were reported burglarized at Simply Storage, 4911 58th Ave., Arvada, on Aug. 28; $5,530 in items was missing.

5 Knife wielder taken down. On Aug. 28, an officer pulled over a truck at 64th Avenue and Quail Street after it fishtailed. Police ordered two occupants out of the car and wrestled the knife- wielding passenger to the ground. He cussed out officers before being issued a summons for interference.
