Re: “The Affordable Care Act and over-the-counter access to birth control,” Sept. 15 letter to the editor.

Is letter-writer David Hall kidding? Regarding the Affordable Care Act providing birth control for women, he writes, “As a man, I don’t appreciate paying for something that I don’t (and can’t) use.” Does he think he does not have a responsibility for a life he may bring into the world? He doesn’t oppose birth control — he just doesn’t want to pay for it so others can get a free ride. I really don’t want my health insurance to pay for Viagra so others can get a free ride, unless “when the moment is right,” their significant other is using ACA-provided birth control.
