A teenager was taken to an area hospital during the electronic dance music concert at the this weekend, according to Global Dance, the promoter of the event.

“During the event a young woman who attended our show was transported via on-site emergency services personnel to a local hospital to be treated for a medical emergency,” a statement from Global Dance said. “We are keeping her and her family in our thoughts and prayers through what is clearly a difficult time.”

Reports surfaced on social media that a high school student from the Denver area was being treated for a suspected drug overdose after attending the concert that featured EDM acts Tiesto, Dank, Birds of Paradise, Manufactured Superstars and others.

On Sept. 22, a man claiming to be the father of a hospitalized teen posted a picture on Facebook of an individual in a hospital bed with tubes attached to her face. The caption of the photo indicates that she was on life support and needed to be resuscitated twice. More recent Facebook posts indicate that her condition has improved. The post had been shared more than 16,000 times as of Wednesday afternoon.

Denver Police said they received no calls from the Denver Coliseum during the event on Sept. 20 and were only notified of the hospitalization through Facebook and calls from local media, said Ron Hackett, a spokesperson for Denver Police Department.

The statement from Global Dance continues to address its drug policy during concerts.

“While we cannot control the choices that individuals make prior to entry into the event, while inside our show we maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy in regard to illegal substances,” the statement from Global Dance reads.

Denver Police are waiting on an official report to pursue any suspected drug dealing at the event, Hackett said.

“If someone has information on someone dealing drugs they need to give it to the proper channels,” Hackett said.
