1 Fast girlfriend. A female driver hit speeds of 65 mph trying to get the attention of her boyfriend she suspected of driving another vehicle before she crashed her Volkswagen Beetle into a sign in the 5500 block of Allison Street in Arvada on Sept. 13. The plan worked, and her boyfriend observed the crash before she was issued multiple summonses.

2 No hard feelings in face battering. Police were called to Lutheran Medical Center, 8300 W. 38th Ave., Wheat Ridge, on Sept. 14 after staff reported a man arrived with a bloodied face that required stitches. The victim refused to say what happened, other than he was hit in the head with a ceramic dish and had “no ill will” against the perpetrator.

3 Suspicious blender theft. A homeowner in the 7100 block of Simms Street, Arvada, told police she suspected her HOA president of stealing a blender left on her porch Sept. 17 by FedEx. The woman said the president “Dumpster dives” and had previously called the police after finding her trash in an unauthorized Dumpster.

4 Pepper spray dousing. A driver and his passenger were blasted in the face with pepper spray by the driver of a Ford Bronco while waiting on a stoplight in the area of Wadsworth Boulevard and Interstate 70 in Arvada on Sept. 17.

5 Drunk cyclist ruins lunch. A man walked out of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, 5760 Olde Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, on Sept. 11 to see a male bicyclist damage his car by crashing into it. The cyclist appeared to be drunk and fled as he pushed his damaged bike down the street.
