Saturday Oct. 12. The annual Open Studios Fall Tour in Boulder has benefits for both art lovers and artists. Painters, sculptors and crafters get a chance to show their work to a whole new batch of potential buyers. Tourists get a chance to see artists in their natural habitats, and opportunities to learn how they work. It’s part art fair (without the crowds and the corn dogs) and part gallery exhibition (without the attitude). The event runs two weekends, so there’s no rushing. You just buy a map for $12 and set out. Scout by neighborhood, medium or artist. Or you can make your way on bike to studios along the city’s excellent trail system. More than 125 artists are in this year. Get the maps at Whole Foods across the area or other retailers on the website. Noon-6 p.m. Oct. 4 and 5, 11 and 12. 303-444-1862 or . Ray Mark Rinaldi
