Police in Wheat Ridge are investigating after officers on Sunday found a male goat with its head cut off alongside two headless birds.

The beheaded animals were found about 6:30 p.m. at Anderson Park on the walking path near Clear Creek.

“The animals appeared to have been recently killed,” police said. “The heads of the animals were not located at the scene. There is no suspect information at this time.”

Police say they are working to identify who owned the goat.

Police ask anyone who might have observed suspicious activity in the area, or who have information about the incident, to call (303) 235-2926.
