U.S. 40 was closed both direction west of Kremmling — between the east side of Rabbit Ears Pass to Steamboat Springs — for much of Friday after a traffic accident.
The Grand County Sheriff’s Office said Friday afternoon that the closure is expect to last approximately eight hours, but later announced on Twitter that the highway reopened about 8 p.m.
The accident involved a tanker truck and an SUV. The coroner has been called to the scene.
