No-brainer

Denver’s annual revolves around Skyline Park at 16th and Arapahoe streets. It’s Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. (but you can get costume and makeup help starting at noon). If previous years are any indication, some 9,000 of all ages will roam downtown, especially on the 16th Street Mall. You can crawl for free, but a $5 wristband, available online or ARC Thrift Stores, scares up a free Red Bull, a pint of beer and assorted other “killer deals.” Be a good ghoul and bring a nonperishable food item for the Food Bank of the Rockies. The green channel

It’s easy to be green and at a free recycling event on Oct. 18. From noon to 3 p.m., Techno+Rescue’s recycling trucks will be in The Stampede parking lot, 2430 S. Havana St. in Aurora. There’ll be no charge to dump off your PCs, CPUs, towers, laptops, cellphones, office phones, monitors, keyboards, printers, copiers, mice, cables, compact fluorescent bulbs, and yes, televisions of all sizes. Although the event is free, consider bringing a new, unopened package of socks or underwear to be given to homeless families. Farm-fresh fun

The historic 17 Mile House Farm Park (8181 S. Parker Road in Centennial) hosts the on Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. The Farm Park features a farmhouse, silo, milk-shed and barn, as well as two replica windmills. During the event families can take a hayride, make pioneer crafts, play games, milk Bessie the Cow and visit her barnyard friends at the petting farm.
