North High School was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon, according to Denver Police.
A police spokesman said the incident occurred after a teacher reported seeing something suspicious in the building. School officials notified the police, which responded, witnesses said, with numerous squad cars and officers.
Police, citing the on-going investigation, did not specify what the teacher saw.
“Anytime a threat is received inside a school, we take it very seriously,” the spokesman said.
The lockdown was lifted at about 6 p.m., police said, adding that no arrests were made.
A spokesman for Denver Public Schools said Thursday night that details regarding the incident likely wouldn’t be available until Friday.
