Nevermore, Flatirons Through Oct. 26, Theatre-Hikes Colorado will act out scenes from chilling Edgar Allen Poe tales at Chautauqua Park in Boulder. Audience members and actors will hike along Boulder Open Space and watch performances from “The Raven,” “Fall of the House of Usher” and “Tell Tale Heart.” Guests should bring camping chairs, blankets or mats to sit on. Hikes are at 3 p.m. on Oct 25 and Oct. 26. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for kids under 10.
Island strumming The Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival is Oct. 23-26 in Fort Collins. Hawaiian steel guitar players and other talented musicians from all over the world will be teaching guitar lessons and entertaining attendees with live music, a luau and more. Musical events will occur each day for a nominal fee.
Costumes in the clock tower Canon City’s Spook Parade is Oct. 30, where kids can participate in a costume contest for prizes. The contest and parade takes place at the clock tower in downtown Canon City, at 5 p.m.
Autumn brews The Fall Back Beer Festival is Nov. 1 from 1-5 p.m. at the Estes Park Events Complex. Ring in daylight saving time by tasting more than 100 different beers from 30 breweries, attend homebrewing demonstrations and food-pairing seminars, try samples from hops farms and more. General admission begins at $30, and VIP tickets start at $50.
