An internal investigation was launched into a Teller County sheriff’s deputy because of a Facebook comment, the office confirmed.
A complaint was made this week that Eric Voigt made a comment on Facebook derogatory to Muslims, Sheriff Mike Ensminger confirmed.
Ensminger said his department has “some pretty strong policies” against discrimination and that he responded to the complainant within five minutes of receiving her complaint, which came after business hours.
“We were after this like no tomorrow,” Ensminger said.
