“Welcome to New York” is another synth heavy taking off her upcoming new album, hinting again that Swift has left country music far behind her.

“I obsessed with moving to New York and then I did it,” Swift said in an interview. “I wanted to start the album with this song because New York has been an important landscape and location in the story of my life during the last few years.”
Along with “Out of the Woods,” Swift has already shared the tough girl, bubblegum hip-hop track, That track — and the music video specifically — pushed buttons with Her fifth LP, “1989,” is due out on Oct. 27.
