Having covered Colorado men’s basketball for almost two decades, I believe this may ranks as a more impressive accomplishment than CU having played three straight years in the NCAA Tournament:

CU announced Thursday that season tickets for Colorado’s 2014-15 home schedule are sold out for the second consecutive year.

That’s a first for the program.

Last year, CU averaged 9,635 fans for 18 games in the Coors Events Center (capacity: 11,043). That ranked third in the Pac-12, behind Arizona (10,897) and Utah (10,311).

To put the current popularity for Colorado men’s basketball into perspective: As recently as the 2008-09 season, CU averaged 4,637 in home attendance. In 2006-07, an average of just 3,324 attended Buffs home games.

Single-game tickets for Colorado men’s home games are still available by calling 303-492-8337 or at CUBuffs.com.
