Forgive Courtney Browne … then again, no apologies are necessary.
The junior right-hander who pitched Grandview’s Wolves to the Class 5A state softball title last weekend is still basking in the limelight.
“Oh, itap so great, I’m still so excited,” Browne said.
Browne, who pitched and won every game but one for the Wolves (she was 18-6 on the mound; Grandview as 19-6 on the season), threw 31 innings over the two days of the state tournament at the Aurora Sports Park and picked up four of her victories.
When it came time to return to class the past Monday, she practically flew into the building off Arapahoe Road in Southeast Aurora.
How much fun can a 16-year-old have?
“On Monday, yes, it really was, it was just fun to see how teachers congratulated you along with class mates,” she said. “It was awesome.”
